Taylah who?

and she did what?

Taylah Cate is a Producer, Director and Writer who cares deeply about the worlds she builds, the characters she brings to life, and the messages she shares through the screen. She is driven by a fierce belief in people - real or imagined - and the transformative power of stories.

She champions brave, character-driven narratives that challenge audiences and provoke both reflection and action. These stories, brimmed with whimsy, yearning and femininity, exist under her banner Taylah Made Films.

Her recent short films, Blood Sisters (Producer) and Goodbye, Spy (Director, Producer, Writer), have screened at festivals across Australia, including SXSW Sydney, St Kilda Film Festival, Brisbane International Film Festival, and Byron Bay Film Festival.

Taylah was Production Manager on Run Club, a digital series funded by Screen Queensland and Screen Australia, created by Laughlines, and is set to produce their upcoming digital series The Assistant.

Since earning her film degree, she has worked at Radioactive Pictures - a Brisbane production and distribution company - learning how films are made from script to cinema release. She has also been a Coordinator on projects ranging from indie horrors and rom-coms to major studio features like Mortal Kombat 2.

As a child, Taylah spent hours choosing rentals at her local Blockbuster, writing and performing school plays, and casting her friends in homemade films. Not much has changed except now, the stage is bigger.
